Fr. George Kingsley Knowles
Rector

The Rev’d.  Fr. George Kingsley Knowles is the second son of Mrs. Evelyn Knowles-Cooper. 
He is also the fourth child of the Knowles--Cooper amalgamation after his mother was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Arthward T. Cooper.
Fr. Knowles is married to the former Sandra Louise Bethel of Golden Gates, Nassau.  This union is blessed with two daughters, 11-year-old Kandra and 5-year-old Kia. In 1975 he left for the United States Of America to further his education.  He attended Voorhees College, and in 1979 obtained a Liberal Arts Degree in Sociology.  In 1979 he attended the University of the West Indies and Codrington College, Barbados to test his vocation to the Sacred Priesthood. In 1982 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology. After seminary life in Barbados, Fr. Knowles returned to The Bahamas and after ordination was assigned to St. Margaret's Parish, Kemp Road where he served as Deacon and Priest.  Two years later, he was assigned to St. Saviour's Parish, Cat Island where he worked for two years before being assigned to St. Paul's Parish, South Long Island.  In Long Island he succeeded in bringing about much needed stability to the parish.  In July of 1994, he took up a new appointment at St. Stephen's Parish, Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama. Fr. Knowles was elected to the position of Rector of St. George’s Parish, Nassau on Tuesday, April 3, 2001

Fr. Reginald Mark Fox
Assistant Curate

Fr. Mark was born on June 7th, 1952, began his education at Oakes Field Primary School followed by secondary education at St. Augustine’s College, Fox Hill.    He perused his tertiary education at the University of Miami where, in 1992, be obtained a Maters of Business Administration.  Later he was awarded a Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Theology from the University of the West Indies and Codrington College.

 

Fr. Mark has an extensive managerial background prior to testing his vocation to the Sacred Priesthood.  He served as a Bahamas Customs Officer from 1969 to 1974.  Later he served as Manager of Imports and Exports at Island Merchants Limited.  In 1977 he joined Picket Foods Limited and served as manager of the McDonalds’ operation.  After serving as manager of Dunkin Donuts between 1984 and 1989, he joined the staff of Holy Trinity Anglican Church as the parish’s first full time administrator.

 

Fr. Mark, in his capacity as parish administrator, supervised the operations of the parish office of 13. He watched over establishment and operation of parish ministries and major parish projects including the construction of the Holy Trinity Activity Centre. While at Holy Trinity Fr. Mark assumed the leadership of the 3rd Bahamas Scout Troop, He served as Assistant Superintendent of the Parish’s Sunday school and also conducted Adult Bible Study.  He is a firm believer in the renewal ministries of the church and in that capacity as acted as a “Faith Alive” Coordinator, trainer in the “Evangelism Explosion” program and has held various roles in the Discovery and Cursillo Weekends.  

 

In 2001 Fr. Mark, shortly after his ordination to the Deaconate, was assigned to parish of St. George, Montrose Avenue.  In his capacity as Assistant Curate, Fr. Mark has continued his work in youth ministry, Bible study and counseling.

 

Fr. Mark is married to Mildred Fox (nee Moss) and they have two children, Mnephra and Krystal.
